Translator.php

TLDR

The Translator.php file in the Illuminate\Translation namespace is responsible for translating strings in the Laravel framework. It implements the TranslatorContract interface and extends the NamespacedItemResolver class. The file contains various methods and properties related to translation functionality, such as loading translations, determining if a translation exists, getting translations, handling missing translation keys, adding namespaces, and setting locales.

Methods

__construct

The constructor method initializes a new translator instance with a loader and locale.

hasForLocale

Determines if a translation exists for a given locale.

has

Determines if a translation exists for a given key and locale.

get

Retrieves the translation for a given key.

choice

Retrieves a translation for a given key based on an integer value.

localeForChoice

Gets the proper locale for a choice operation.

getLine

Retrieves a language line from the loaded translations.

makeReplacements

Replaces placeholders in a line with the provided values.

addLines

Adds translation lines to a specified locale.

load

Loads the specified language group.

isLoaded

Checks if a specific language group has been loaded.

handleMissingTranslationKey

Handles a missing translation key.

handleMissingKeysUsing

Registers a callback to handle missing translation keys.

addNamespace

Adds a new namespace to the loader.

addJsonPath

Adds a new JSON path to the loader.

parseKey

Parses a translation key into namespace, group, and item.

localeArray

Gets the array of locales to be checked.

determineLocalesUsing

Specifies a callback to determine the applicable locale array.

getSelector

Gets the message selector instance.

setSelector

Sets the message selector instance.

getLoader

Gets the language line loader implementation.

getLocale

Gets the default locale being used.

setLocale

Sets the default locale.

getFallback

Gets the fallback locale being used.

setFallback

Sets the fallback locale being used.

setLoaded

Sets the loaded translation groups.

stringable

Adds a handler to format a given class to a string during translation replacements.
