FormatsMessages.php

TLDR

The FormatsMessages.php file in the Illuminate\Validation\Concerns namespace provides a trait called FormatsMessages. This trait contains methods used for formatting validation error messages in the Illuminate Validation package.

Methods

getMessage

This method is used to get the validation message for an attribute and rule.

getInlineMessage

This method is used to get the proper inline error message for standard and size rules.

getFromLocalArray

This method is used to get the inline message for a rule if it exists.

getCustomMessageFromTranslator

This method is used to get the custom error message from the translator.

getWildcardCustomMessages

This method is used to check the given messages for a wildcard key.

getSizeMessage

This method is used to get the proper error message for an attribute and size rule.

getAttributeType

This method is used to get the data type of the given attribute.

makeReplacements

This method is used to replace all error message placeholders with actual values.

getDisplayableAttribute

This method is used to get the displayable name of the attribute.

getAttributeFromTranslations

This method is used to get the given attribute from the attribute translations.

replaceAttributePlaceholder

This method is used to replace the :attribute placeholder in the given message.

replaceIndexPlaceholder

This method is used to replace the :index placeholder in the given message.

replacePositionPlaceholder

This method is used to replace the :position placeholder in the given message.

replaceInputPlaceholder

This method is used to replace the :input placeholder in the given message.

getDisplayableValue

This method is used to get the displayable name of the value.

getAttributeList

This method is used to transform an array of attributes to their displayable form.

callReplacer

This method is used to call a custom validator message replacer.

callClassBasedReplacer

This method is used to call a class based validator message replacer.
